Shelter Me
For the past several years, Blaze has been known for their flawless productions, creative remixes & truly special songwriting talents. However, when Blaze first broke into dance music, they did so as recording artists featuring the now legendary lead vocals of Chris Herbert. Classics such as Whatcha Gonna Do, If You Should Need A Friend, Can’t Win For Losing & So Special established Chris as one of house music’s most soulful vocalists & resulted in the successful launching of Blaze as a major influence in underground dance music. Following those early hits, Chris decided to pursue a career as a solo artist & producer, leaving Blaze in the capable hands of Kevin Hedge & Josh Milan. Recently, the group re-united to record Home Is Where The Heart Is released on the Shelter Records imprint.
For his debut on Easy Street, Chris has joined with the gospel vocal talents of Asaph Womack to produce a classic house anthem, Shelter Me, which has a direct connection to one of the underground’s most influential venues, Club Shelter, the creation of Blazes’ Kevin Hedge. Chris & Asaph’s soaring vocals & deeply emotional interpretations deliver an inspirational message that’s hard to resist. Featuring some truly soulful mixes by Dennis Ferrer (Sfere Records) and Lenny Fontana, Shelter Me definitely has the feel of “Classic Blaze” while maintaining a completely contemporary dancefloor mood.
